We’ve been working hard to launch several new features and improvements to Hero Schedule. Here’s a quick look at what’s new:

      More Open Shift Assignment Options

We introduced two new Open Shift rotation modes that help distribute open shifts more equitably in your agency. The first is “By Hours Assigned”, which helps you offer open shifts to employees who have the fewest open shift hours assigned. “Last Assigned” allows you to rotate open shifts based on who hasn’t received an open shift. Both methods give you more control over how open shifts are offered.

      “Burn Time Off” Function

Our developers added a “burn time off” function. When enabled, overtime requests and time off requests within the same work period and for the same accrual account will now automatically cancel each other out.

Enhanced Admin Experience for Employee Groups

      employee groups screen updated

We’ve implemented several usability improvements to the admin screen, making it quicker and more intuitive to organize your teams.

      More Precise Accrual Calculations

Users now have more rounding options available for accrual calculations, allowing for greater accuracy and customization to fit your specific needs.

      Clearer Guidance on Overtime Rules

We’ve improved the “hint” within the software for Unqualified Overtime Rules to provide a clearer explanation of how this feature works, helping you set up your overtime policies.

      Key Bug Fixes

We knocked out several bug fixes:

      • Automatic Deactivation Cleanup – When an employee is deactivated, any shift changes scheduled for after their deactivation date will now be automatically deleted.
      • Ranked-Bid Notification Fix – We’ve resolved an issue where the 24-hour warning for ranked-bid shifts was being sent repeatedly in certain situations.

      Conclusion

Our ongoing commitment is to provide you with a powerful yet easy-to-use scheduling solution. These updates are designed to offer greater flexibility, streamline your workflows, and ensure accuracy.
