Our product support staff and developers have worked over the last 30 days to release the following updates on Hero Schedule. A huge focus this month was to upgrade the shift bidding feature (a subject on which we have even bigger news to be announced soon…stay tuned!)

      Smart Ranked Bidding Defaults

When creating a new shift bidding schedule, you can now set a previous schedule as the default. If employees don’t submit bids for the new schedule, their rankings from the default will automatically be applied, saving time and ensuring continuity.

      Identical Shift Group Bidding

Setting up shift bidding is even easier! You can now mark a group of shifts as identical. This allows employees to bid for the entire group with a single click, eliminating the need to select each shift individually.

      Flexible Bid Order for Employees

      bid order by group

When determining the order in which employees bid for shifts, Hero Schedule now supports the order in which employees are set up within their groups, giving you more control.

      Improved Mobile Bid Display

We’ve improved how bids are displayed on mobile devices, providing a clearer and more user-friendly experience.

Customizable Data Grids & Badge Numbers

      customizable columns on shift bidding

You can now customize the displayed columns in several data grids, including the option to show employee badge numbers in places where it wasn’t previously available. An option has been added for an employee’s badge number to be automatically filled based on their group membership, streamlining data entry.

      New Title Column for Approvals

On the approval screen for time off, overtime, and open shifts, you now have the option to add an “Employee Title” column, providing more context at a glance.

        Key Fixes

        • Inactive Employee Visibility
          • Resolved a new issue where inactive employees were incorrectly showing up in certain lists.
        • Time Clock Entry Formatting
          • Fixed an issue where some valid time formats were not being interpreted correctly when adjusting time clock entries.
        • Notification Settings & Admin Screens
          • Addressed a bug where notification settings failed to save if they referenced a deleted department.
          • Corrected issues with the older department and accrual account admin screens, ensuring compliance with recent system security improvements.
        • Employee Group & Activity Deletion
          • Fixed an error that occurred when creating a new employee group and a child group at the same time.
          • When deleting activities, sub-activities will now also be correctly deleted.

See our developer’s release notes for all details.
