It’s already the end of August, and we are looking forward to the fall season for more upgrades to the Hero Schedule platform. Last month, we were hard at work, and we wanted to share a new set of updates.

While you’re here: If you’ve enjoyed using Hero Schedule, would you leave us a review? It will take just a few minutes, and it really helps us build our bootstrapped operation.

Enhanced Time Off & Bid Protection

We’ve added more control over bid protection. Time off requests can now be configured to cancel an employee’s bid protection. This new functionality provides administrators with the ability to see the bid protection status and override it as needed, giving you greater flexibility in managing your workforce.

      Shift Bidding Improvements

We’ve made several fixes and minor improvements to the overall shift bidding process, ensuring a more reliable and seamless experience for both administrators and employees.

      Important Fixes

      • Addressed an issue where users with pay period permissions who were not supervisors were unable to properly access the pay period screen. Now, access is correctly granted based on permissions.
      • Resolved a bug that was introduced in Version 25.7.9 where using the quick-approval “thumbs up” for overtime requests would fail on special/blackout days.
      • Corrected a regression bug that caused the import of employee accrual balance adjustments to fail.

See our developer’s release notes for all details.

      Looking Ahead

We always appreciate your feedback, so as always, please reach out if you have any questions.
