September brought one of our most anticipated features, calendar subscriptions, along with continued investment in certifications, permissions, and time card flexibility. Here’s what shipped and why it matters for your agency.

Subscribe to your schedule in any calendar app

      google calendar

Employees can now subscribe to their work schedule and time off directly in Outlook, Google Calendar, or any app that supports the iCalendar/ICS format. Instead of checking Hero Schedule separately, each employee’s shifts and approved time off flow automatically into the calendar they already use every day.

      More control over certifications

Certifications continue to mature after August’s development. Authorized staff can now run employee certifications through an approval workflow, so credential changes are reviewed before they take effect.

      A smarter permissions matrix

Building on the rebuilt permission system, role administrators can now see assigned employees directly in the permissions matrix and safely delete roles. This cleanup automatically removes related assignments and approval-chain references, so you’re never left with orphaned permissions.

      More flexible time cards

      updated time card

Personal schedule notes can now be shown on the Time Card page (with permission), so each day’s context is right where you need it.

Printing and visibility controls let you show or hide scheduled and actual hours, and start each employee’s time card on its own printed page for cleaner distribution.

      Final Notes

A complete log of our updates is available on our release notes page. September was a big month and we are looking forward to what our devs will release in October. Let us know if you have any questions!
